Consultation on a proposed change to the ecclesiastical parish boundary of the 2027/2028 Admissions Policy, concerning the ecclesiastical parish boundary for Ewhurst Church of England Infant School, Surrey, with effect from September 2027.

Background
Ewhurst Church of England Infant School (by September 2026 Ewhurst Church of England Primary School) has served its local community for more than 175 years. In July 2025 the Church Commissioners have re-organised the ecclesiastical parish boundaries, which affects the school’s admissions policy.
Specific Proposal
The Governing Body of Ewhurst Church of England Infant School proposes to adopt the new ecclesiastical parish of ‘Ewhurst and Ellen’s Green’. This would take effect for the reception intake in 2027 and for subsequent years.
The Governors have carefully considered the implications of the Church Commissioner’s decision to re-organise the parish to ‘Ewhurst and Ellen’s Green’ and the following factors have been taken into account:
- Ewhurst CE Infant School is the only school within the newly created parish.
- The need to serve families living in the parish of Ewhurst and Ellen’s Green.
In line with the Diocese of Guilford’s Guidelines, this consultation will run for six weeks, from 15th December 2025 to 26th January 2026. We are committed to ensuring our admissions arrangements continue to be open and fair, and we welcome your input as a valued member of our community.
How to respond
You are invited to submit comments/responses about the proposal in writing and can be delivered to Mrs Katja Correia, School Secretary either in paper form to Ewhurst Infant School, The Street, Ewhurst, or submitted electronically to info@ewhurst.surrey.sch.uk. Your response must outline your name, address and relationship to the school in order to be considered. All responses to the consultation should be received before 11:59pm on 19th January 2026. Due to the need for us to consider the responses and make changes as necessary, we will unfortunately be unable to consider responses received after this time. After the close of the consultation, the Governing Board will meet to consider all responses. The outcome of the consultation will be published on the school website as soon as possible once we have reached a decision, and the final admissions arrangements will follow shortly after.
