Welcome to the Ewhurst School website from the Executive Headteacher
It is a genuine privilege to welcome you to our wonderful school and community. I hope this website gives you a real sense of what makes Ewhurst such a special place.
At Ewhurst, we want every child to feel known, valued and loved from the moment they walk through our doors. As a small village school, we are proud of the strong relationships that exist between our children, families and staff. We know every child as an individual, celebrating their unique talents, encouraging them through challenges and helping them discover who they are and who they can become. Our aim is to nurture kind, confident and resilient young people who are ready to make a positive difference in the world.
Our Christian faith underpins all that we do. Guided by our values, our vision is: "Kind hearts, strong roots, growing together”. We encourage children to show compassion, respect, courage and forgiveness in their daily lives. Everyone is welcome at Ewhurst, and every member of our community is valued.
Alongside high-quality teaching and ambitious academic expectations, we believe childhood should be filled with opportunity. We want our children to look back on their primary years with smiles on their faces and stories to tell. Whether it is exciting educational visits, sporting events, music, performances, Forest School, enrichment days or moments of awe and wonder in the classroom, we are committed to creating memorable experiences that inspire curiosity and a lifelong love of learning.
We are incredibly fortunate to have a dedicated team of staff who genuinely care about every child. They go above and beyond to ensure children feel encouraged, challenged and supported each day. It is the people within our school who make Ewhurst such a happy place to learn.
We have high aspirations for every child and believe that success comes in many forms. We strive for excellent academic outcomes whilst recognising that qualities such as kindness, perseverance, creativity and integrity are equally important. Our goal is that every child leaves Ewhurst with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need for the next stage of their education, together with treasured memories of their primary school years.
I hope you enjoy exploring our website and learning more about our school. However, nothing compares to experiencing Ewhurst in person. I would be delighted to welcome you for a visit, where you can meet our wonderful children and staff, seeing our school community in action.
I look forward to meeting you.

Welcome from the Chair of Governors
soon to be updated...
We are delighted to be the only dedicated Infant School in the area where all the children know and support each other, and are known by every member of staff. We firmly believe that the first three years of a child's education shape his or her future, and that this should not be compromised. Every child has the opportunity to develop firm educational foundations for life.
Today Ewhurst Church of England Infant School is a nurturing, happy and calm environment in which children are encouraged to develop their emotional well-being, and achieve high academic success through a broad, creative and challenging curriculum in a Christian ethos. Outdoor learning opportunities are also freely accessible to the children along with our excellent Forest Schools programme.
We also offer full on site wrap-around day care from 7.45am- 6.00pm, which is very popular.
Ewhurst School is forward thinking and innovative, steadfast and confident in the Christian values for which it stands. We hope this website captures something of the spirit of the school, and we encourage you to visit on one of our Open Mornings so that you can see us in action and discover even more.
To visit our school in action, please make an appointment with the school office.
