End of Key Stage One Assessment Results
At the end of Key Stage 1 (Year 2), the children are assessed against national curriculum objectives. Optional national curriculum tests (SATs) are also used to inform these judgements.
Our children achieved the following results in 2025:
At the end of Reception class all children are assessed to see if they are meeting a "Good Level of Development" at the end the Early Years Foundation Stage.
At Ewhurst 80% met the criteria in 2024, in 2025 it was 83%. The national average in 2025 was 68%.
At the end of Year 1, all children take a Phonics Screening Check to assess how well each child can read.
81% of children at Ewhurst passed the screening check in 2025. The national average in 20254 was 81%. In 2024 100% passed the screening check.
It is a statutory requirement to provide information of the school's performance measures.
